In the Begining....

These pictures were taken at an old historical Mill about ten miles from my apartment. I took several hundred pictures and these were my favorites. This next Friday we have to bring them to class and share. I'm nervous that they won't be on the same level as everyone else...but that's what the class is for right?

Oh I really love the broken window and wheel hub close up, they are my favourites. It's interesting that you are allowed to process them. When I did my little introduction to photography class, we had to leave everything SOOC. Lucky.
you know the deal right?? "if you compare yourself to others you will become either vain or bitter, for there will always be greater and lesser persons than yourself" or something like that.
are you shooting manually?

shooting manually means using the manual setting on your camera and therefore adjusting the aperature and shutter speed settings yourself to make a good exposure. As opposed to using the Automatic or one of the programmes. It's a lot of fun.

It's a really great thing to have a place where you can see the progress you make on your shots. I laugh when I look back on my early shots before I knew anything. Isnt it all so exciting?

I think you deserve an A for composition! My favorites are the feather in potentilla (plant) and the moth on purple flower. But I really love your new photos of the boys. What a handsome husband and beautiful children!!
